Why support the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF)? The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States, providing drinking water, sustaining a thriving seafood industry, and supporting the livelihoods of over 18 million people. However, the Bay’s health has been in decline in recent years. The CBF tackles these challenges by planting trees to reduce pollution and erosion, removing trash from Virginia waterways, restoring oyster populations, and educating students about conservation.
