May is National Pet Month—a special time to honor and celebrate the pets who bring so much joy and companionship into our lives! Here at Goodrich & Watson Insurers, we’re proud to be part of this celebration by acknowledging the importance of our furry friends and supporting the local animal community. This year is particularly special for the Goodrich family as our beloved chocolate lab, Belle, turned 10 years old! Belle has been a cherished member of our family, providing us with endless love, laughs, and loyalty over the past decade. She’s a reminder of how pets can enrich our lives, bringing happiness and warmth to our homes.
Supporting Homeless Dogs and Cats
At Goodrich & Watson Insurers, we understand the importance of giving back to our community, especially when it comes to our local animals. That’s why our referral program is designed to benefit homeless dogs and cats in the Hampton Roads area. When you refer someone to us for insurance, we proudly make a donation to the Animal Aid Society and the Poquoson Animal Welfare Sanctuary.
These incredible organizations do essential work in caring for and finding homes for animals in need. By participating in our referral program, you not only help your friends and family receive the coverage they need, but you also support these local shelters in their mission to rescue and rehome animals.
How You Can Celebrate National Pet Month
During National Pet Month, we encourage you to join us in supporting the local animal community. Here are a few ways you can make a difference:
- Refer a Friend: For every referral you make, we’ll donate to a nonprofit that benefits the lives of our furry friends in need throughout Virginia. Not only do you help your loved ones secure great insurance, but you also contribute to a worthy cause. (Plus, we send you a $5 coffee gift card!)
- Adopt or Foster: Consider adopting or fostering a pet from a local shelter! There are so many loving dogs and cats out there who go unadopted for years. Giving a homeless animal a loving home is one of the greatest gifts you can give.
- Donate Supplies: Shelters always need supplies such as food, blankets, toys, and cleaning products. Any contribution can make a big difference.
- Volunteer Your Time: Many shelters welcome volunteers to help care for the animals, clean the facilities, and assist with events!
